I can't recommend it due to a couple of issues. Right away, the pulse sensors did not work. Double-checked the connections but still no luck. I contacted customer service who suggested I remove some thin film over the sensors, but we had already done that. A subsequent email to customer service has gone unanswered.
A more serious issue is with the resistance action. This machine has 16 resistance levels, with level 1 being the least. The issue is that above level 4, it is difficult to depress the pedals, and at level 10 or above, I can stand on them at the top of the arc and they won't move at all. I'm not new to workouts or step machines, so don't think I'm the problem. But the result is that I cannot use any of the pre-programmed workouts because they go the full range of the resistance levels; instead, I am limited to the manual mode and levels 1 to 3 only. As another reviewer said, this stepper works sort of opposite to those you find at the gym; with those, a harder work level is a lower resistance, so you have to step faster (as if running up stairs) to continue. With this machine, what you get is just more resistance. I asked customer service if there was an adjustment possible to the magnetic resistance setting, but have received no response. If I ever get a satisfactory response, I will amend this review.
In summary, if you want a stepper with limited functionality and virtually no customer support, then buy this one. Otherwise, think twice.
